Hey guys! Thanks so much for the love on our Bedroom Makeover in my last post. It's been a labor of love and nice that it finally feels like our own special retreat.  With all three kiddos headed back to school here in a couple weeks, not to mention our oldest heading into the teenager years (was she not just born?), I think I'll be more ready than ever to head there at the end of the day!

We've made some major progress in our beach house dining room with the new buffet cabinet (thanks for helping me vote on Instagram!), and the capiz shell chandelier and braided jute rug are both set to arrive later this week. I can't wait to share more, but the next item to decide on are dining chairs.

I wish this was easier said than done, but to give you an idea, here are some of the criteria we are working with:

1. We have 5 human beings using the dining space everyday for a variety of things from eating to crafts to computer time. A few of those humans are smaller (well....actually nope, not anymore) and sometimes a little messy (definitely still this).

2. It's a tight space. The round table is 44" diameter and the scale of the dining chairs needs to be pretty small but still comfortable.

3. We don't want to block the view. We're currently just using these stacking metal stools which is nice because they don't block the view, but a low back chair would be nice for more comfort.

With that said, I've been scouring the internet for something that fits our style, budget, and scale.  I have it narrowed down to about 4 options, but since it has been something I've spent hours on, I had to share some of the best dining chairs I come across that really fit that coastal aesthetic!

On the other side of the room closer to the kitchen we have an even smaller dining nook that seats two and I ordered these pretty and more cozy wicker armchairs for that spot which is more of a spot for relaxing. :-)

If you're on the hunt for some coastal style dining chairs, these are all great options. When you hover over the photos in the roundup below you can see a listed price. Keep in mind this may be for a SET of chairs AND many of the chairs are available in different fabric options or stain and paint colors.

Let me know if you snag any of these and best of luck!

The four options I'm currently considering for our beach house are the Boca Kubu Side Chair, the Sawyer Cross Back Chair in white, a Slipcovered Parsons Chair in white, OR sticking with a backless stool option like these Rope Storage Ottomans which double as seating. I just don't know yet! Any help is welcome!

The Tilden Spindle Back dining chair from Pottery Barn is a top contender for our own beach house. It fits all of the criteria, although I'm not sure if I'd rather go for vertical spindles or an X back.

The Best Rope Baskets for Your Home + Weekend Picks

Spring, Interiors, Home Blog Posts, Fashion, Fave PicksAnneke McConnell

Thank you so much for your awesome response to my last post on the new Bookshelf Styling Class by my friend Heather!  You are in for a treat because she is a trained teacher AND designer.  If you haven't signed up yet, do it now before the price goes up March 1st!  See the details HERE.

Onto today's topic of baskets!

Beautiful rope baskets (well, baskets in general) are one thing that are a versatile MUST in any home.  They corral toys, blankets, and can act as a container for plants like one of my fave, the fiddle fig leaf.

Now, if there are two things I really love to do, it's research things to death (nerd alert!) and bring it all together in one place.  When it comes to finding the most unique rope baskets, my first suggestion would be to go to  ETSY and search "rope baskets".  You will find beautiful handmade pieces and be supporting a small business owner, often for a more affordable price to you! Win win!

Here are a few of my favorites I found:

As for other rope baskets around the internet, there are many, but below are my favorites for a coastal casual style.  I found Joss and Main to have the same items as other retailers but generally for about $20 less.  It's a free membership site, but I've heard many say they don't want to join sites like this. Trust me, they are worth it and have tremendous savings on their flash sales!

Other sites that I found to be the best were Wayfair, Amazon, Nordstrom, and Target.

By FAR, I think my favorite rope basket is this one by Colonial Mills. You can find it in a variety of places, but Wayfair has it available in 10 different color combinations!

Large Striped Rope Basket for Storage

This rope basket is similar, but a little more expensive. I love the two tone look though and it comes in 4 color combinations.

Turquoise and White Striped Rope Basket for Storage

Here is a cute one on a smaller scale (with other size and color options), that's affordable and perfect for putting magazines, books or plants in.  Sometimes a smaller size is needed for things like match box cars and such. ;-)

Small Two Tone Knit Basket for Storage

What do you think? Are you a storage basket loving person like myself? What do you use them for? I'd love to hear more in the comments!

Also, as we head into the weekend, there are so many new items arriving for Spring! Here are a few things that have caught my eye lately.  The pretty Spring sandals are my favorite!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to enjoy the view!
