Hey friends! Thanks so much for the great feedback on my last post about the Beach House Vacation Rental. If you have a chance to visit, definitely add that home to your list of places to stay!

Today is the BIG WayDay Sale for Wayfair! It's like the SuperBowl of home sales and only lasts 24 hours - the deals are crazy with some even steeper discounts for flash sales. Quick Tip: You can also see more steals and deals on Wayfair's sister site Joss & Main. :-)

From outdoor furniture to lighting, living room furniture to dining room furniture, rugs, accent furniture, and more - there are 100's of items on sale. I've definitely scoured the patio sales, because we're updating some pieces this year at the Beach House.  I have my eye on this patio set and need to run it by my husband Michael first, but love the added storage!

Also, Serena & Lily is having up to 30% off all rugs right now - they are gorgeous, high quality, and a beautiful addition to any home. We LOVE our Tulum Rug in our beach house master bedroom!

Beach House Vacation Rental in the Pacific Northwest

BedroomAnneke McConnell

Hey there friends! Before diving into today's post, I wanted remind you it's the LAST DAY of the One Kings Lane Anniversary Sale. Now some sites have sales every weekend, or maybe rotate what they have on sale, but One King's Lane is one of those sites that RARELY goes on sale.

They have such beautiful quality furniture and home decor. This outdoor lantern is a favorite!

ONE KINGS LANE SALE FAVES

Now onto today's fun post! It has now become tradition that my sister and I, along with any other women who need a mini retreat, plan a girl's weekend getaway at least two times per year.

For just 3 days and 2 nights, somewhere within a couple hours of home, there are more than enough options to choose from here in the Seattle area.

For our most recent getaway, we found a quaint little beach house north of Seattle, WA in the Coupeville area.  It was a little ironic since Coupeville had just been featured in a recent article of Coastal Living magazine I had read - my monthly happy mail!

If you have yet to plan a trip like this, I can't recommend it enough! Find someone to take the kids for the weekend, and make it happen to get away for a bit. We typically search sites like VRBO, Homeway, and Airbnb, and found this vacation rental home on VRBO. When we split the cost, it's such an affordable mini vacation!

I do have to be upfront though......I went into this trip planning to simply relax and reflect on personal and business goals, map things out, etc. and stay off of my phone and social media completely.  NO WORK. Eek!

I wasn't planning to take photos with my Canon DSLR, but once we got there I was kicking myself for not bringing it. The house and property are so incredibly beautiful and I could hardly resist taking photos and videos with my iPhone, which obviously won't do it justice.

BUT, I'd rather share what photos I do have though, for those of you looking for a place to vacation at in the Pacific Northwest!

Here it is! A beautiful, no-bank waterfront beach house with unobstructed 180 degree views!

This bedding is so beautiful in person! The material feels wonderful and not scratchy at all!

Here is the second bedroom off of the living, dining, and kitchen space. It has the cutest loft area set up for older kids!

***I apologize this is so blurry! I wanted you to get the idea of it though if you're looking for a place to stay in the Seattle region with kids!

I thought all of the details like the simple styling in this white cabinet, not to mention the cremone bolt, the guest book, and beautiful globe chandelier were all so beautiful and made the entire home feel so special and inviting.

I loved all of the turquoise accents throughout the little cottage. I wish I knew where these mugs were from, because they are so cute! Each one has a different coastal animal and word. :-)

The house is literally the last one on the street and on "the point". We definitely took some walks along the beach during our stay here.

Here is a quick video of our first time walking into the house and seeing the home. :-)

You can see more photos of the house along with booking info. HERE.

I have a feeling we'll be rebooking this place over the years, hopefully for some quick trips away with family and friends too!

Beach House Master Bedroom Progress

Bedroom, Coastal InteriorsAnneke McConnell

Hey friends! The Beach House Master Bedroom Project is moving along quickly and I'm excited to share the final AFTER soon! The plan has changed a bit since I first shared the edesign plan we were going for - you can see the original plan HERE.

Our bedding has arrived from Serena & Lily (on major sale right now!), and I'm so excited about their linen duvet cover and shams - nothing says beach house like linen, right?

Also, after reading more reviews of the original desk we chose, many people said the color was very different from the photo, so I switched it up and went with this pretty white writing desk (also acting as a nightstand). Needless to say, I.LOVE.IT!!!! It fits our space perfectly and is exactly what we need with two small side drawers and a center laptop tray drawer.

More to come soon, but here are some "not so perfect" progress shots!

I couldn't have done all of this installing of window shades and curtains without my husband Michael!  He has been a HUGE help! Thanks babe!

We also got one of my favorite affordable traverse rods installed on all of the four windows.  It takes a bit of extra time, but pinching the hooks closed before mounting the rod on the wall is well worth the effort in the long run - I'm saying that from experience of them sliding out easily!

Beach House Master Bedroom Makeover Idea

Bedroom, Coastal Interiors, Master Bedroom, Our Beach HouseAnneke McConnell

Hey friends! Today's edesign is a little personal as it's the first concept for our very own Master Bedroom at the Beach House. To say I'm excited is an understatement!

Without going into it too much right now, fingers crossed we'll be building a couple houses this upcoming year, one to move in to and one to sell.  Come follow along on instagram, because you can bet I'll be sharing ALL about the process in stories! We're still finalizing some reports and backend logistics, but so far everything is pointing in the right direction. I'm anxiously waiting to meet up with our architect!

Now.....I have to be clear. We are NEVER getting rid of our Beach House.....never ever EVER. There's a lot more to the story behind why building is the right move for us, and hopefully I can share that in time, but the homes will be relatively close by, and I'll share more as details unfold.

Right now we really want to get back to that feeling in our beach house of when we had it listed as a simple, uncluttered vacation rental home, and as a family of five, that can be challenging in a space with little built-in storage and under 2000 square feet.  The decorating process has been slower than I'd like with this home, and we've played musical rooms more times than I can count, but that's ok. If anything, making a house a home IS a process.  We're putting A LOT into these big build projects, so this makeover is on the relatively affordable side.

Here's the plan for the beach house master bedroom!

Beach House Master Bedroom Makeover Plan.png

Houzz Sonneman 1-Light Palo Wall Lamp in Black Brass / Houzz Beige Upholstered Diamond Tufted Wingback Bed / McGee & Co. SEASCAPE 2 Artwork / Target White Linen Look Curtains (10 colors available) / Bed Bad & Beyond European Pillow Sham in Navy/White / Serena & Lily Addie Stripe Tassel Pillow Cover / Target Cream Paisley Throw Pillow / Brass Hat or Purse Wall Hooks / Bed Bath & Beyond Blue Paisley Duvet Cover Set / Pottery Barn Chunky Wool & JUTE Rug in Natural (also available in gray) / Live Fiddle Fig Leaf Plant / Joss and Main 3-Piece Seagrass Basket Set / Target Gilford Gray Desk / Houzz Claudia Fabric Dining Chair

A couple notes:

1. Over time, I've learned what really makes me happy, and it comes down to neutrals with navy and deep greens.  I want our bedroom to feel open and airy, yet grounded and calm.

2. There are a few items missing from this design board like some new Natural Shades and Blue Armchair (I just ordered this today and am so excited about the price!), a mirror, dresser, art, etc.

3. We decided to try a desk next to the bed and use it as a nightstand as well.  We are also working on making a guest room more user friendly, and our room has more space to add a desk, so we're giving it a go!
