The Best of the Shop Bop sale and weekend deals

Fall Fashion, Fashion Blog Posts, Fave PicksAnneke McConnell

Hey friends! Thank so much for the love on my last post! There is nothing like Fall traditions to put a smile on our face.  :-)

We have just one day left of the Shop Bop sale and there are so many great options still in stock - I in particular scout for jeans, handbags, sweater, boots, and jewelry.

This cardigan drape coat was a surprisingly chic find, and of course so many other favorites are shared below in the style boutique. I've found this is the easiest way to share what I've picked from the 1000's of items on the site.

I also just got these black quilted Hunter boots in the mail and they are SO pretty!  When you've found those perfect fashion finds for fall, make sure to enter the code EOTS17 to get up to 25% off your total.

Happy Shopping and be sure to check out these other great sales this weekend. I'm already getting excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas - don't kill me! I think the older I get I just can't get enough of the holiday spirit. Lol

Quick and Easy Gluten and Dairy Free Banana Walnut Bread

Wellness Wednesday, RecipeAnneke McConnell

Hey friends! I recently was introduced to this Banana Walnut Recipe and it honestly caused a bit of a sentimental response. You see.....it's been a few years of trial and error with personal health issues and I USED to make banana bread all the time as a Fall tradition.

Once I went gluten free(ish), I kind of just gave up on the idea of baking all together.  So now I am baking this banana walnut bread like CRAZY because I am so happy to be baking it again as Fall has just arrived!

Gluten and Dairy Free Banana Bread

To be upfront, this is not a recipe I came up with on my own, but was introduced to by being a part of the Body Pursuit community.  That's another blog post to go into, but it has been the life changing for my health. In a nutshell, it's a monthly membership community with a personal coach (like one you can FaceTime and text for questions support), weekly home and gym workouts provided, meal plans provided (from very simple to detailed), an extremely supportive Facebook group and more.  The accountability is going to be crucial more me as we head into the holiday season and I'd love to cheer you on from the inside too!

Ok so this banana walnut bread recipe has already been inhaled by my three children about 3 times in a week, not that I recommend that, but I'm just saying.............if they like it that much, that says something! I'm excited to bake up multiples of these loaves for friends and family this holiday season too. :-)

I did a Facebook LIVE to show how simple the process is.  I'd say you're looking at 10-15 minutes tops to get ingredients out, whip up the batter, put it in the oven and do a quick cleanup. Not bad!

Gluten and Dairy Free Banana Walnut Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 large eggs

  • 4 ripe bananas (with some brown spots)

  • 1/2 cup coconut flour

  • 3 tablespoons tapioca flour

  • 1 teaspoon ground saigon cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • 3 tablespoons of 100% maple syrup

  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup of raw chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit.

  2. Lightly spray or oil a 5" x 8" loaf pan.

  3. Add the eggs to the blender and pulse once for a second.

  4. Add the rest of the ingredients into the blender and blend until thoroughly mixed.

  5. If adding walnuts, gently fold chopped walnuts into the batter (I use a bowl to do this).

  6. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.

  7. Bake on the center rack of your oven for 45 minutes.

  8. Turn the oven heat off and let the bread sit inside the oven for and additional 5-10 minutes, until a toothpicks comes out clean from the center of the bread.

  9. Take the bread out and let it cool for about 30 minutes before taking it out of the pan and cutting slices.

  10. Enjoy!

Navy & Caramel Tones: Friday Faves

Coastal InteriorsAnneke McConnell

It must be the crisp in the air as the weather turns here in the Seattle area, but I can't help but be drawn to those warm fall colors as the leaves already start to turn colors of yellow, orange, gold, and brown.

I LOVE FALL! :-)

On a personal note, we survived the start of school and we now officially have a middle schooler on our hands. This is a pretty fun stage as a parent of 3 kiddos!

Today's post is short and sweet as we get ready to celebrate our oldest daughter's birthday this weekend!  I'm tempted to order this "I Love You To The Beach & Back" sign for her! I love it! hehe ;-)

Navy is a staple color year round for me, but throw in a little caramel color and it instantly feels fall.  I'm a little head over heels in love with this Self Portrait sweater, Free People Sweater (which comes in 4 colors), and spool accent chair!

I also spotted some fantastic napkins if you're looking for Thanksgiving - a set of 4 with 27 colors options - I'm thinking about picking up a couple sets in either the Slate, Mocha, and Terracotta. They're so pretty!

As for around the beach house, I'm about done with our project painting the stairs.....everything but the treads and I'm hoping we'll have our new pantry delivered by next week so I can get more organized for the school. Storage is limited around here, so this will be an amazing upgrade!

Happy Friday!
