COMPLETE THE LOOK

Thanks for the love on yesterday's fall outerwear post!  I think since we are currently road tripping across a few states to Yellowstone currently (and it's pretty hot!), I was inspired to created a calm and cool design for the living room today. A design that is classic and will stand the test of time, with a bit of modern flair.

I consider today's living room design classic and cozy with a touch of rustic and chic.........which is funny when writing that out since my first blog EVER was name RustiChic! #funfact

Chic Bedroom with Coral and Navy colors

Hello friends! We've finally kicked off our summer vacation here on the McConnell homefront, and couldn't be more excited!  Between beach combing, BBQs, and a road trip planned to Yellowstone, we are happy and thankful for this time we get to spend as a family.

 

Surprisely, this may give me more time to blog and share design, fashion, etc. since I am no longer commuting during the school day.   A BIG thank you to those of you that follow along and find a snippet or two of something to try yourself, add to your home or wardrobe, or even gain a little more balance through things like my free Make It Happen Challenge >>>> working on exciting updates right now! Eek!!

 

I try to keep things simple and to the point around here, so let's get to today's design!

You can count on many of my designs incorporating navy somewhere.  Mixed with warm colors tones like coral and gold balance each other well.

The "waves" of the navy and grey rug remind me of a gentle, calm sea.  The classic wingback bed in a linen fabric can be dressed up with any accent colors or patterns and is an overall great pick for anyone.  How beautiful is that coral and cream pineapple pillow?!  Love at first site for me!

Coastal Interiors: Master Bedroom Retreat

It's easy for objects and decor to begin to clutter up areas of our home, whether it's a hardworking kitchen or your master bedroom you'd prefer to have a "retreat" like feel.  Hands down, I've found when people clear items away (and I'm not a minimalist!), they are able to achieve that serene, calm, and functional space they dream of when they browse homes on Instagram or Pinterest.

 

Today's Master Bedroom Retreat is designed with simplicity in mind.  If you have some items you like to keep by your bedside, a nightstand with drawers is a great option for keeping things looking neat and tidy.  

 

I'm personally loving the mix of acrylic in furniture pieces lately including this gorgeous x-base stools from Wisteria Home. Mixed with caning, brass accents and a pop of navy blue and green palms, this design is classic coastal with fresh updates.
